About me

Hello and Salam,

I am a mummy of three beautiful children; Aliza (6), Ismail (2) and Yusuf (nearly 1). They are my whole world and I revolve around them in every possible way. Ooops sorry, I forgot to mention my name is Nadia….. its really nice to meet you, thank you so much for stopping by.

I started this blog as a way to give myself a outlet where I can have some creative fun, experiment, connect with others and grow in some way or another. Before I had my children, I never thought that I would ever leave work and had never contemplated being a stay at home mum. I was so focused on climbing my career ladder until my daughter was born…everything suddenly changed, my whole perspective, my priorities, my life…

Ive been a stay at home mum for the past 6 years and I honestly can say I love it, I am so¬† glad I made the decison to leave work just before my daughter was born. I enjoy playing with my children, having fun, making memories and ultimately squeezing every drop of happiness out of this short sweet time called childhood. It isnt always easy, but the best things in life come with the biggest challenges…I am ever grateful to Allah (God) that he has blessed me in the most beautiful way.

What can I expect to find on your blog?

I’m really in to child psychology, child development and generally love being around children (who doesn’t right?). Unfortunately I have no qualifications in child development [I wish I did my degree in this subject] and I do not profess to be any kind of expert in this area.. (Most of my bookshelf is full of child development/psychology books.., it’s such a fascinating subject) I’m just an ordinary mum who’s constantly learning new things to help be a better parent. So on my blog I want to predominately talk about two topics that are very close to my heart.

  1. Parenting: When I learn anything new I’ll share it with you in a simple fun way, also how we have fun in our family and how I try to connect with my kids (trips, toys, crafts, fun). I haven’t worked it out (motherhood) and I don’t think I ever will. I guess being a mother is a life long journey of learning and renewal, we just can’t ever stop trying. This is my way of keeping myself motivated and sharing some of it with you too….because we all need reminding.
  1. I totally love the subject of personal growth, renewal, self improvement…call it what you may. I love the works of Imam Al Ghazali and Maulana Rumi in which they focus on improving yourself on the inside and how this can uplift you spiritually and essentially liberate yourself just based on your thoughts. There’s many authors who have wrote amazing books on this subject, I’ve always loved reading those motivational books. I really believe having positive thinking can really make such a massive difference to your life.

I’m really passionate about both these subjects, so I know I’ll never run out of things to talk about and hopefully you will help me out by messaging me with ideas for things that I should write about, I plan to post on my blog once a week. Insha’Allah. I hope you do stop by every now and then, it would be lovely to see you again.

Much love
